The Treaty of Waitangi || Te Tiriti O Waitangi
ROUGH DRAFT OF THE TREATY PAGE 7
Hobson and Freeman continue to flesh out the Articles text . They mention latitude and longitude as indicators of territory to be ceded to Queen Victoria. This kind of wording is quite unsuitable, but is later repeated by Busby. They appear to be floundering in their efforts to create a coherent treaty text. With Hobson now very ill, he concludes that it's time to seek expert assistance from James Busby. The handwriting is that of James Freeman.
